TREATMENT

Cold Therapy
The treatment is as simple as immersing yourself in the cold water; alternating between this and a hot shower. Inside our Cold Room the lighting is dim to help you maintain focus. You’ll find a suggested protocol on the wall for the timings of the cold plunge barrel and hot shower but you’re free to use whatever techniques you prefer. The chlorinated and filtered water inside the barrel is kept chilled to 3 degrees celsius (much colder than the sea in winter).

Our cold room is a private room that can be booked as a post-sauna session or as a standalone treatment
FOCUS
Concentrate on controlling your breathing and settling your body’s natural response to immediately jump out
ACCOMMODATING
You’ll be shown to the Cold Room where there is a changing area and hot shower within the room itself
RELAXATION
After a short while in the barrel, you will exit and sit down to rest
PREPARATION
Start with a shower then climb the steps to lower yourself into the barrel
REPETITION
Ideally, you will repeat this circuit another two times then feel free to move to the shower area to shower and dress

Cold water immersion can be a fantastic coping mechanism for stress. Repeated use can help to train the fight or flight response as the body’s stress mechanisms are triggered by the sudden exposure to cold. Immersing oneself in cold water on a regular basis elicits some quite profound physiological changes, whilst the act of doing so promotes self-control, a sense of mindfulness and a confidence and clarity of thought that are instrumental to building a healthy, positive mindset.

How the treatment sessions works, prices and memberships
• Packages can be shared with another person (must be set up on the system)
• Packages are valid for one year
• Sessions within a membership cannot be shared with other clients
• Fair usage policy applies to unlimited memberships of one session per day
• Sessions rollover for one month while the membership is active
• Contract automatically renews each month
• Minimum of two months initial contract
• Cancel anytime after the first two months
• Payments can only be cancelled with five working days notice before the scheduled payment
